    Default making powder a paint

    Here is the question.
i have heard that you can use MEK or methy-ethyl-ketone and mix it with the powder to make a paint you can brush on. Has anyone tried this and does it work?
If it does work what kind of viscosity am I looking for?
    any help would be great.
    Thanks

MEK actually evaporates too quickly to use it as a liquid paint.... using the liquid to powder products offered (at Powder buy the pound) is a better idea. You can use it in a paint gun and airbrush too.

You can use the MEK method for touch ups in spots that you can't do much with,.... but it's not exactly the first choice for powder....

I've also used laquer thinner to do a touch up. Either way, you should run a cure cycle for the specific powder.

i've airbrushed powder mixed with mek. it does evaporate too fast, though, and the dry overspray is ridiculous. i haven't heard of anyone who's had good luck with the powder-to-paint stuff. i sure didn't.

I ruined a spray nozzle using the powder to liquid. Not worth the money for the stuff or I need practice. Just suspends the powder in liquid, it doesn't actually dissolve the powder so it is hard to apply or spray unless by hand.

yeah,... my understanding is the nozzle size needs to be a larger size than normal... and it is supposed to take a lot of practice too I figure..... Sorry to hear about the ruind nozzle.... I wouldn't have thought it to be able to do damage like that...
