Default Powder Coating Rods and Clevises

I am constructing steel awnings for a commercial building. The awnings and components are going to be powder coated. Do I want to powder coat the entire rod and threads and the female threads of the clevises, or do I want to blank the rod and clevis threads for ease of assembly? It seems as if I get the threads powder coated, then assembly will be very difficult if not impossible with the coating impeding the process. It would obviously benefit me the most to have the entire parts powder coated for protection, but not if it gets in the way of assembly. Please advise. Thanks.

Mask the threads before ANY prep or coating. Those pieces should already be treated to prevent corrosion. If not, They should be.
