Black oxide is nothing like powder coating. If you want a two tone look you'll need to use a ceramic spray on coating or one of the teflon/moly coatings. I highly recommend cerakote, I've coated well over 100 firearms with it, a lot of them duty guns, holds up great. Norrels Moly Resin and Gunkote are both teflon/moly type coatings, stay away from Duracote, in my opinion it is garbage. I strongly advise against powder coating anything besides an AK, the PC is way to thick of a coating to apply to most guns. I really cannot recommend the black oxide for firearms either, it's a cold black oxide that does not hold up like a hot black oxide does. I have used Caswells BO on nuts, bolts, pins and other non gun parts, it just is not a very good gun coating.
