Default Ceramic coating question (actually a question about vibratory polishers)

Hi guys/gals. I've been watching and reading posts on this site for 2 years now. For some reason the site would never let me log in until now, even though I had a name and password. Anyways..down to brass tacks! haha.

I am planing on building a vibratory polisher next week for my shop. A lot of my customers are asking for ceramic coating. So..I ordered some chrome ceramic from PBTP and did a set of personal headers for practice. After I took them out of the oven, I went to sand them with 600 grit and then buff them out. NOPE. Not gonna even try that ****. Its for the birds. So I figured out how to build a vibratory polisher via the good ol' internetz.

My question is this...where and what do I buy to put into the bowl (or 55 gallon drum I'm using as a bowl)? Does it have to be ceramic balls/cones? Can i use glass bead? I'm going to use this thing strictly for polishing chrome ceramic parts. Another thing is, I've noticed that people who have these machines put a polishing liquid mixed with whatever media they have in it. What kind of polishing agent should I buy?

Thanks in advance and please do help! I'm also stoked that I can finally log into this site to chime in on stuff and ask questions!!

Hey Polar Bear, Your issue with the Media that you are going to use on brass. I would use 200 Novacite ( Tripoli ) . The blend is excellent for the brass. The polishing process will be better that the beads and or cones. Contact Malvern Minerals.Co. Or , check out my website.Producers of Novacite - Home or call me at 501-623-8893. Ask for Kim.
I promise you will tell everyone what you are using . The shine is magnificant. Thanks, Kim

Here is a web site that came from a guy on PBTP BRANDON INDUSTRIES and here is his thread about building one, which he gave up on after running it, due to problems with it's operation. http://www.powderbuythepound.com/for...=5900&start=20
Who says you can't teach an ole dog new tricks?
