This was my chrome of choice and I see it's gone. I bought some of what appears to be a new powder, Ultra Chrome, but do not like it nearly as much. It's a PITA to lay and so far I've wasted a good portion of it re-shooting parts because it doesn't act the way the Extreme Chrome did. Not sure if it's in my shooting it or when it cures, but I haven't changed a single thing except the powder I'm shooting.
Anyone know about the availability of it? I'd hate to be relegated to Ultra Chrome for good![]()

Thanks for the tip, I'll check them out.
I just shot another batch after I posted, paid close attention to everything I was doing. This new Ultra Chrome has to go on heavier than the Extreme Chrome did or I end up w/a rough finish. Going to take some getting use to if I don't luck out w/your links.
edit:
Rosey's hasn't got it but they have the same Ultra Chrome. Looks like EC might be gone for good - damn! Here's a snip from their site: THIS COLOR REPLACES THE XTREME CHROME. 1 lb of Ultra Chrome Powder Coating. This has a mirror effect - better reflection then the old xtreme chrome. TGIC Polyester and has a bake schedule of 375 degrees for 15 minutes. Typical Film Thickness 1.8 to 2.2 mils. Average coverage 10 - 20 Sq.Ft (per 1/2 lb). A clear topcoat is recommended by the Mfg to protect the finish from chemicals. Remember, because of differences in computer monitors and other variables, colors may not match exactly.

Extreme Chrome was discontinued by Tiger Drylac and replaced with Ultra Chrome. They say it's almost the same powder. Try giving their tech line a call if you're having trouble with it.

Just for the curious, this is my pinhole problem with this powder.
This is a smooth, steel piece that has been outgassed for an hour at 50* over cure temps. Unbelievable.
I figured maybe I'm shooting too much powder, so I shoot less and then I end up with either rough coverage or NO coverage at all (even where powder was shot).
This powder is a nightmare. These things never happened before I started using it. I have some PBTP Patented Chrome that I shot on pieces from the same batch and *magically* none of this stuff is happening to them. I'm giving up on this powder, I can't waste any more time and money stripping/sanding these things down just to do them 2-3 times. Not to mention I have to shoot almost 2x as much of this powder vs. Xtreme or Patented chrome just to get it to stick right.

I have a 1 lb container of Extreme Chrome I purchased from Caswell last year when I bought my kit. I havent used it, and honestly it will be a while before I get to start coting things...life gets in the way some time. If anyone needs a little extra to finish a job, I'll sell my 1 lb container. I am not sure about shipping costs with hazmat charges though...anyone interested lemme know.
