I picked up a cheap HF gun and a bottle of all the HF colors. I have used the HF Matte back a few times and the powder sticks to the parts easily. I have done steel and aluminum with the HF black matte with great results. Now for the problem. I picked up a sample pack of the Eastwoods translucent colors and the simply do not stick to the part at all.

Last week I machined a custum CNC Golf putter and wanted to try out the translucent blue. The 6061 putter was bead blast finished then I tried to coat the part. The powder did not even remotely stick. I then tried the translucent red........same thing. Then sure enough I put the matte black HF powder in the gun and it coated fine??

Any clues? The part was properly grounded in fact the ground never changed between powders.

Thanks Mac
