Default Spot filler to use before powdercoating

We powdercoat various steel plates and other objects and are looking for a filler that can be used to fill scratches and gouges up to maybe 1/8th deep (most much less) before we apply our coating.

What are some of the options out there?

    Thank you all in advance

I have used Lab Metal for some of my stuff. Seems to work fine. I did not use the high temp stuff, as I only cooked the parts once, and the thinner they sell is nothing more than a 50/50 mix of acetone and toluene paint thinner, so save some money and pick some up to mix in a small batch instead of the Lab Metal brand thinner. It also goes on easier when it is thinned a little. But it can set up fast, so be careful and purposeful in your usage and amount.

    Has anyone tried Thermobond 3?

    Thanks for the reply.

We use Lab metal for the big stuff and liquid metal from NAPA or any auto store for small scratches and gouges without any problem. We always bake the liquid metal above the powder cure temp before sanding and coating

You can use Quicksteel Putty, or JB Weld also. These two are great as long as you're not shooting a heavy metallic flake powder. The flakes stand differently over the filled spots. I suspect that could happen over any of them if the filler is too thick too.
