Hello again,
Another quick question: Does powdercoat stand up to "fuel drips" better than spray-on engine enamel? Obviously in a perfect world our carburetors would not leak at all, but if (when) they do, will the fuel instantly dissolve the coating like spray on paint? Thanks, 57J2olds |

Powder is much more chemical resistant then "spray paint". But as in everything the key word is resistant. Just for some info, there are charts around, I forget where now, but they have a certain powder formulation (epoxy, polyester, TGIC, etc..) that show different times it takes to breakdown the coating, fuel was one of them and it took a while. Maybe search for something like "powder coating chemical resistance charts", you may find something.
