Default Powder Coating Clear Over Chrome Plating

I bought some chrome plated wheels which I am sure have the standard cheap chrome plating. I been trying to clearcoat over the chrome plating to add an addition level of protection but I am getting a mix finish. Some areas are nice but other areas are ruff and textured looking. Is there a way to do this right with some level of consistence?

Since all yall have agreed on not enough powder, sounds like it might be some hard to get to spots. Would he be able to just put another coat on it?

I would think that the clear would show the rough texture of the first coat under it. It may cover it with no problems, but I would try something different. Sand the rough areas down with 600 grit paper, then possibly buff it out smooth, wipe it clean then shoot a 2nd coat. That way you know for sure it is going to adhere to a smooth 1st coat and no possible roughness showing through.

Default It worked.... Thank you

Tried it again last night and sprayed more powder this time and it worked. Fortunitely, I was smart enough to do all my experimenting on some test pieces. I did one wheel last night and it turn out fine. The white powder over the chrome is a bit difficult to tell if you have full coverage.
Thanks for everyones help. Nice to have a place to post questions to knowlegable people.
