Hi,
Can you please explain how your ground is attached? This sounds like the ground is not actually in electrical contact with your part. Also, check that: 1. Your powder coater is plugged in. 2. It is actually turned on. 3. Your ground is attached. 4. And you're stepping on the pedal. I know these sounds really simple but I am guilty of each and every single one of those things at one time or another. etyrrany |

Perhaps you might want to try sanding off the coathangers. They are coated as well as the buildup you are adding to them when you spray your parts(if you're not changing then between coats) It seems reasonable to me that you're losing your ground. I'd say if your gun is spraying new parts ok then you should clean off your hangers and try it again. Sounds like etyrrany is right on the money.

Spraying translucents is a little bit different, or so i've experienced. There is a different technique than normal reds blues and blacks and such. You need to really back off on the part and mist it good, and gentily let the powder attract. If you go to close, you'll just blow the very very fine translucent powder off the part.
