Using OSPHO for metal prep?

I'm so new at this I'm not even a newbie yet, still waiting on my equipment to arrive, I think I read all the threads in this forum but I may have missed anything concerning the use of OSPHO for metal prep..

PS guess I should have added that OSPHO is used mainly for preparing rusted surfaces for painting itcontains phosphoric acid, the container says it can be used to clean dirt, grease or oil off new metal.
