Default 1st job w/ Caswell powder

so I have been using Hot Coat powders for the past year or so & decided to try Caswell products for their strong recommendations & less expensive prices. I ordered a1 lb. of Black Magic & some prism additive for my clears & candie top coats. When I opened the Black Magic it was 1 hard chunk, like a rock! I have never had this happen with any of the hot coat powders or any other powders for that matter. I spent about an hour sifting & breaking down the powder & eventually got it fine enough to shoot. Is this normal for Caswell powders or was this can I received slightly more humid than it should have been? Anyway.....I coated a few AL hubs & wheels with the Black Magic & am very happy with the results-it looks like it is wet; just like it should! It was a pain smashing & sifting though. I should have used my Cuisinart in the first place!
