Default Powder coating over nickel and creating a paint line

Hello everyone,

I have an antique (high wheel) bicycle fork that I am trying to do part nickel and part powder coated. The plater nickeled the whole fork ( I told him to do only the top few inches. Will the powder hold if I scuff up the nickel good? What is the lowest grit I should use and still be able to maintain a nice finish? Is there any trick to masking or special tapes or supplies that I can use to get a good line where the powder meets the nickel?

Thanks

Dave
