Default self cleaning ovens

Was out crusin around the other day and there on the curb was a oven with free..it works sign on it...well....I grab it up and took it home and sure enuff it worked...better yet it was an older self cleaning oven...I do alot of work for a company here doing hatch handles and hatches for ships and i have alot of hangers that i use..needless to say after awhile the pc build up starts to kill the ground on the hangers...well....that self cleaning oven...with the hangers in it just turns that ol powder into dust..I did cut the time down on the cleaning to an hour instead of the 2 hrs the oven wanted in the directions...I also tried it on a few alum and steel parts i had pc'd and it did the same....just turned the powder into a dust.....sure beat the sand blaster..I guess if your careful on the part...you can almost kiss the blastin that **** off when ya have to re- shoot something...

How hot does the clean cycle get? I tried reheating a part at 500 degrees, but it just discolored it.
