Illusion Chrome - Plating Powder Coating Buffing Anodizing

Anyone done illusion over chrome or some other really light color? Just wondering. On my new case im working on I'm thinking of masking out amber illusion flames over chrome to give it a light (almost like an acid etch look) anyone done anything like this? how well does illusion show up on something like this. any input would be appreciated

The illusion seems to work best over darker colors...I havent had much luck on chrome,white or yellow..
