Default Few questions...

I was curious how I would go about doing a PC fade, from one color to another, or how I could two tone. Is the fade as simple as filling the hopper with a different color as I spray? To do a two tone, do 1 part at a time and mask each side off? I did a search but couldn't find anything without going through every reply that has the word fade, two, or tone in it. Thanks for any and all info.

Sorry Rob dont want to bust your bubble by not giving you a concrete answer,,,fades are the classic BITC_ , theres no easy way but to practice..Ive used card board to bounce the powder and it works on some things..you just need to mess around to get what your after..you start masking and you get hard line...not much of a fade..another thing you can try is to turn down the air...ALOT and work it to the depth by turning up the air slowly..

everyone makes the in a different way
what I do is
start with the lightest color
hang the part
coat the first color from the top to the middle
cure for 10-15 minutes
hang the part the same way
and coat the second color from the bottom to the middle
cure for 10-15 minutes if a third coat will be used if not fully cure

I have a valve cover that has the letters V8 that will be black while I will do the rest of the cover a different color. I plan on doing the letters first, and doin a full cure then set it over night and then tape off the letters and do the rest the next day.

Blademan I've never had any problems doing it or any complaints
I've had some accidents after finish where some stuff falls of the tables or over them and they haven't chip off or scratch but as for a lasting coat I haven't had any compaints in almost 1-1/2 years I've been doing customers work.

Robb letters are not powdercoated they are copy chromed with the flash cooper and copychrome plug and plate kit that caswell sells
I chrome the letters and then tape them off with green high temp tape
then I powder as normal and remove the tape after finish .

Is it a haz. process like real chroming? Or is it a safe, do-it-yourself kit. Anyone have a link to that specific chrome kit? I did a search and got a bunch of different ones. I have no clue what to look for. Thanks, and sorry to be such a pain.

http://www.caswellplating.com/kits/plugnplate.htm
you need the cooper and the copy chrome ones
they are safe ( non fumes )
you can go to the electro plating area and read how to use them
