PC rims??

Hey All: What are you all charging to PC auto rims? In my case, it is taking almost an hour to sandblast the average rim (14- 15"). I am running a 125 psi / 20 cfm sand blast gun in a cabinet. Is there a better way to prep the rim?
But if I got to spend an hour prepping an rim, I got to get more than the $50.00 per rim to PC. FYI I am prepping & PC'ing the complete rim (both sides & the inner rim).

i get any where from 325 - 500 for powder coating wheel's... when i get them in and they are painted or coated already i charge and extra $25 per wheel for the paint removal.. some time's fast strip will take it off and what it don't take off i toss it in the oven laying flat on the rack set the oven to the clean cycle i think it go's some where in 600-800 fyou need 1200f to start to distort the wheel .. ( when i melt it down for casting it melt's quick at 1200f)

Hey Custom..your response on charging for wheels was $325-$500.I noticed you said wheels (plural) so does that mean per set or just one wheel?I have someone who wants 4 14 inch boat trailer wheels coated and needs a price thus the curiosity.

I get 100 per wheel if i have to strip them and you always do. remeber somebody elses prep work is your poor finished work.

the worst the wheel the more they are charged ..

I usually take them to a machine shop and get them steelshot for $10 each saves me a lot of time and it's done in 20 minutes .
then normal prep and coat takes me less 2 hours to finish everything

How long are you leaving the wheel in the oven? The whole cleaning cycle or are you cutting it short? Reading the 6061 thread recently, is there not an issue of pushing the heat this far and the tempering issues around it?

what do you mean how long does he leave the wheel in the oven? follow the directions on the powder you are using. bring the part to the temp you are seeking not the powder and proceed from thier. its all about the part temp. not when the oven gets to the recomened poweder curing temp.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. He said he was using the clean feature on the oven to bake off the coating. I was refereing to burning off the old coating, not baking on the new one.
