i am new to this. just wondering if two of the same type of powders (different colors) could be mixed together to produce a different color
? i am thinking of mixing almost chrome with some black to make a dark grey metallic. thanks |

In a simple answer..... yes and no.
Yes they can be mixed without problems as long as chemistry is similar. No they don't mix like liquids to give another shade. If you have any 2 powders in your shop mix them 50/50 and shoot on scrap, you will see.You can change base coat color to change the shade of the top coat or mix and match for different effects. |

here is an experience i had.... i used almost chrome on a piece and emptied the cup when i was finished, but did not blow out the gun and nozzle parts. i then placed a cup of black on the gun and shot it on a scrap piece of metal. after curing, i found the finish to be a metalic black. something looking like black with silver metal flake. it looked kinda cool.
