The only way to get the cromelike finnish on Techlines Cermakrome is to use a vibratory polisher. Is could work to do it by hand also, the coating is mainly based on aluminum particles så use the same tecniques as for polishing alu, but you cant beat the finnish you get in a vibrator.
Not sure what you mean by polishing it after a week, but out of the oven its more like a beige matte surface that need to be treated some way. An alternative way would be to glassbead blast it at very low pressure to get a pretty nice finnish on it, use large size glass for better result. And yes, it can handle every chemical you got in a car My webserver is down but i can mail you some "right out of oven" pics, drop me a mail at coatings@telia.com... |

What the case would be is:
1. I am coating it with Techline. I will not be polishing it. 2. I will then ship to the client/customer. 3. Once he gets it he will polish it up. Will the time in Transit cause the part not to polish up when he does it? |

I work with ceramic on a regular basis
you must achive a thick coat before curring or you can sand trough the coat polishing and you'll have to start all over again. after cured you can treat it like polishing a piece of aluminum I use a vibratory then hand polish it with a buffer . vibratory has the advatage of getting into hard to reach areas and it's fast 10-15 minutes after cured you can polish it any time you need to I some times cured all parts on monday and polish the last one on friday you won't have any problems sending it by mail. |
