Yamaha blue color

Go for a partial cure, wait till the piece turns wet and glossy like glass, take it out let it cool down to about 180f then add top coat, go full cure.

Isnt there a color that is a Single stage color

I know there has to be a single stage color.. because there are some snowmobile places that are powder coating stuff and it doesnt look like it has mroe than one coat..

The Post with Picture says Reflex Blue... I think Columbia Coatings has it.

The reflex blue needs a clear to even look that close..

Looking for something even better.. its gotta be out there.

What's really funny about this is, I have 3 Yamaha,s none of them are the blue, or even have the Yamaha Blue on them. One's white, one's Red/White/Blue (was originally purple and black) and the third was custom painted Ford Sonic Blue, the color of my truck, over some dark blue plastics. None were ever what wouild be considered Yamaha Blue. My sister-in-law has one that's blue. I'll try and get a bead on the color next time I'm out there and see if I can match it too.

Just curious,... why does it have to be "one step" powder?

I just spent a little time over on NIC's Colors and found about 10 blues that are very close to the webiste colors of Yamaha's Bikes.

1) Manhattan Blue
2) Skyline Blue
3) Pinelake Blue
4) Stanton Blue
5) Stanton Midnight Blue
6) HOTROD Blue
7) Southwest Blue
Hurricane Blue
9) Hustler Blue
10) Lazer Navy

All of them within a tick or two, but the one that looked closest to me on there was Stanton Blue.... But I'm comparing websote to website... Alll are close. You can order 5 color swatches from NIC at no charge.

Why one step??

Because it saves me money and time.. and cheaper for me and the customer.

Most colors IMHO look better with a high gloss clear. I sometimes shoot some color test panels with one half masked off to show the customer the difference between clear and no clear. Its a good way to upsell for that extra few bucks. Even Im impressed with the way some colors pop when you clear them.
