Default other options besides sandblasting?
Are there any other ways of prepping the part besides blasting?

burn oven. I have dropped pieces off at a large powder shop to have old powder burned off.

Aircraft paint stripper seems to work the best for me.

You can pick up floor adhesive stripper at Home depot called JASCO, very simular to aircraft stripper, becarefull it will cause chemical burns.
