there were some posts talking about how powder chemical compatibility is important when mixing. how bout when layering? what would happen if i laid, say, black cat urethane over top of a partially cured tgic? or a fully cured tgic?

Here's a chart that shows compatability with different resins. Most are o.k. the only real problem seems to be with Acrylics. Now I have sprayed two different resin clears (a polyester and a Hybrid) over the same RAL color and experienced a color variation. Always best to test first.

Ok, I've got a question, if this is powder coat how do you tighten them up and not knock the coating off when you put the lug nuts to use on a wheel? Would they be road worthy? They look really great!

If you are refering to my coated lug nuts shown above, I install them using a vynil inserted socket and a socket wrench, then torque them with a torque wrench or jack handle very carefully. And I always use anti seize on the studs, something that seldom gets used untill you start to strip something. NEVER use an impact gun on them. They hold up fine on the road ,but an impact gun will destroy them in no time ,just like it does to a chrome nut.

Nobody answered the question. Can you mix clear and, lets just say, blue together to do a one step process. Rather than doing blue and then doing clear.

I cutom mix alot of my own colors but never tried clear and color, My thought would be that youd end up with a translucent color... I do this with paint alot for that deep look, 50/50 paint/clear and you got an awsome candy...
