just scuff it with 320 and in a spot that is not noticeable i scratch it down to the bare metal to get a good ground. and i test my arc it the arc is light i turn the air down to 8-10 it i got a good arc i shot as i would a fresh part.. it the arc is to light with the hobby gun i will switch over to my pro gun and get it done...

I have had luck just using the actual first hook through the whole process. Obviously it takes a bit more on a second coat being that it is a 20kv gun.
Once that hook is in a hole, it should be a decent contact point. Good luck! |

I have done it before, I used a friends shop with his progun. First I went over the part with steelwool and also baked it 10min longer than the powder called for.

There shouldnt be much of a problem if the part is reheated again.
Just think of it as a 2 step coating job anyways. like all the base/clears. Shoot it hot and you shouldnt need a good ground. But keep a eye on how much powder you lay on the part. |
