what kind of barrel or drums for stripper solutions..??

has anybody ever tried one of these barrels for there stripping solution. .
i would like to get one if it can hold up..
if you have could you list what kind of mix your useing
They have a removeable lid and bolt ring.

that barrel looks like one of the plastic ones, I'm sure it would work with stuff like zep-a -lum or other acid base stuff, i would do some further research before i filled it with say carb cleaner or jasco...they come in metal cans, so i'm betting theres a good reason for it...looks like it would be a great container for purple power or green stuff...

Walk into a back door of a place that would use chemicals - say for food processing. Make sure it is the receiving area and look for the guy that looks like a mechanic or a janitor. Bear with me - NO JOKE. Don't go to the front - the secratary is a gate keeper. The maintenance man is your friend. I found my barrels at a bakery. He know has an add in the paper and is selling some making an extra 5 to $20 a call.

They used to recycle but he and his boss have some agreement. I told him to sell them like that. He gets all sized and quantities. Various plastics to metals.

Would anyone have a good solution to strip the metal ones. I am not fond of blasting , but have thought that I could buy these paint them favorite football colors and move them quickly. I really don't want to just burn them off and possibly contaminate ovens.

use the metal it is safer and some of the acids will eat the plastic and you will end up with more work than you want .. and you may want to contact you local code inforcement officer. some states ,cities ,townships may have some ruling on the use of chemicals and there storage.
