High-durability powders

Hey guys. I'm going to be powdercoating some airplane control yokes and I was wondering what type of powder I should use. I'm looking for something that holds up well under the abuse of things banging on them, clamped on them, etc. They aren't outside in the weather, but would see sunlight through the window. It's pretty much the same thing as a car steering wheel's environment.

Would you guys suggest an epoxy? The polyester I have tried is OK, but seems brittle and chips more easily than I would like.

Gloss isn't as important as durability.

Is there a Caswell product you'd recommend? I'm going to be ordering some stuff anyway.

Here is a photo of a steering yoke for a 1947 Stinson. I did it in Caswell TGIC Cream. This was done approx. 6 months ago and it has held up well so far.

Wow! That looks really good, Jim. How did you prep the yoke, did you do anything chemically? On the couple I did, I just blasted them with Aluminum Oxide. I'm wondering if anything more should be done.

I blasted them with glass bead, wiped them down with acetone and then outgassed them at 350 degrees for 20 minutes before coating.

Just make sure whatever you use is UV or outdoor rated.
