I've got a slightly different take on this subject.
I use Caswell products in all my projects, and will continue to do so. However, Caswell does NOT have everything needed, so I use "other" products in conjunction w/Caswells. These "other" products are something that NOBODY else sells either (in DIY quantities at least), so I've had to go to great lengths to obtain them independently. Most of my finished projects are a combination of Caswell supplied & other products, and is something that I can't post photos of, or discuss in the forums, because it's not exclusively Caswell. So I rarely post here anymore (unless it's exclusively Caswell), and the experience I've gained w/Caswell products is of no benefit to others. To their credit, Caswell is now supplying one of two products not previously available, and I've ordered some to try. If it works as well as the "other" product I'm currently using, I'll be able to post some more. The second product I'll still have to obtain independently. Sean |

And i Did follow the rules Straight from LANCE caswell common sense .. so to say the least on this you want to post the name of othe companies that will take away from a sale at caswell Go ahead and do so .. I understand not all companies can sell everything and Yes you need to look out for a place to purchase it .. Heck Ebay has every product that we need. From kits to powder and lot more .. Not every supply house has a forum. Caswell dose to help there customers and i will admit i don't send alot of money with them as i should. I will be truthful I purchase most of my products factory direct. at the top of every topic there is a list of stuff read this first .. That is all i ask that every one dose .. If some one ask where can i get a powder or tool pm them the place .. Harbor freight is the cheapest place to purchase product's But you get a few good uses then they are junk. There c.q is not the best and it is all knock off's ... i can spend a hour typing so i am done .... |

Well here goes my .0002 cents worth.
The job as Moderator is a thankless & pennyless job. It requires lots of time & effort. In the end, not all users will ever be happy or will agree with the replies. I would like to THANK Chuck & others for their efforts & willingness to share their knowledge. I'm afraid with all the hassle they will pull away from this forum & then we all lose. I myself have decided to stop posting on this forum for a variety of reasons that not need to be posted here. One of the main complaints I do have with the Caswell forum is the restriction of posting other vendors on here. But that is what Caswell decides to do & it's their forum & they have the right to do whatever they want. So I have to respect that. But I do not have to agree. With that said, I am on other forums that encourage the posting of ALL info regardless if it is one of their competitors. That speaks volumes to me that they care about the hobby & trade, not just the "bottom dollar". I received a lot of great info & met some great people via the caswell forum (esp. CHUCK!). I like to think I also repaid that help by posting help to others as I learned more about our trade. So signing off. Good Bye & good luck! Bob G.

I think the problem is people are mistaken PUBLIC forums and PRIVATE forums
in a public forum you can say ,do, or post anything you like about anyone cuz the are not owned by any company . on a company private forum there are rules to follow and the moderators job is to make sure they are followed . my point is you can't go into the FORD company forum and start sending people to dodge (THEY WILL ERASE YOU POSTS AND EVEN BAN YOU OUT OF IT ) but you can go into any other public auto forum and say anything you want about ford. just my $0.02 |

I am with you Bob 110%
I don't have to many postings, so I donno if I have right to voice my opinion or not, but here it is. If moderators don't follow the forum rules they get **** from the administrator. If moderators follow forum rules they get back stabbed from members. Beeing a moderator time well wasted IF members are not appritiating your job, or the admin is not stand up for you I am here for a hobby(for now), learn as much as people willing to share and later for a bottom line(money), but never stop sharing information with others, who are eager to learn even if I lose busines on the short run, because the customer will return for a quality product. Money is not everithing - past experience - family, friends, good conversation.... Sorry maybe off topic, but this is how I feel frank |

We appreciate the hard work our moderators do, it's a thankless task, and I'm often puzzled why someone takes on such a mission.
However, we are all obviously very grateful for their work. This IS a PRIVATE forum, primarily designed for our customers and prospective customers to swap ideas, and exchange information. We are NOT a public soap box for anyone wishing to extol the virtues of any competitor. In other words, 'It's our ball, and our rules! Don't like it? Then you can't play!' If you find a product we don't stock, and you think it's a winner, there is a special place on the mail forum board where you can post a request to carry it. Now, PLEASE, lets get on with the ball game here. We've worn this out!

hmm...
First sorry for my english but i think i have to write here, want to add someting.. i'm a casweel customer, But !! I like free Spetch !!!! As i understand if i post a link to another forum or whatever resource about power coating i will break the forum rules Come on.. We are in 2005 & not runned by sadam Usein, i suppose ?I you want any interest in your forum you have to deal whit that... Else your forum will stay small forever and never be better... whit limited information.. All Information are avalable around the net, forum exist to give user a place to learn thing in a concentrated area (the forum) ! ex here about power coating (my interest) etc.. If you think Every good articles about power coating or info coming from a competitor can't be posted here you should seriously revise your position... Competition is part of the game, anywhere, you should deal whit it !!!! Thing like this from casweel just make me refrain to buy from you in the futur! A moderation is good when someone attack another one etc.., but not to control any post whit link or info or whatever about the subject.. Even on competitor site... This is where we can see the importance of having a forum not owned by a biz.. Why not make this forum the best on internet in place ? Need to be free speach for that ! ps: i'm new in power coating as well as customer from caswell, but i know almost all other competitor from you.. Dont see any interest to delete post/text about your competitor, in fact every info is good whatever from where this info came.. Use google whit "power coating" as search key...?? I dont understand that sorry caswell... ps: I can see you biz. that do xx, 000 000$/y whit open forum, tread about competitor etc... Never seen a deleted tread because someone have posted a link from a competitor or talking about competitor.., Its just how the bizz. "way they think!!"... Anyway my 2 cents, and caswell plz revise this position... Its very bad sorry.. |
