Default pics of my oven and need advice

Here's a couple pics of my oven not quite finished. The pic of the front shows a coffee cup on top and to the left this shows the location of the vent. Is this location good? Plan on using 4" for the vent. Where would be the best place to put the thermocoupling for the thermostat? Going to use a torpedo heater to heat the oven. Plan on running the duct along the bottom and cut slots in the sides and maybe a couple in the top to help slow down the air and divert it in all directions. Is trhis feasible?
Thanks

Good looking oven.
I have the thermocouple about 1" below the top and right in the center of my oven (a 3X3X6) and it works pretty well. As for the ducts, are you talking about extending it out from the opening shown in the back with holes in the sides? If so, I would think that would work well, should give even heat without much air turbulance.

Thanks, yeah I figured that might help heat it evenly and I might not need a fan for circulation.

I use the torpedo style heater. you don't need a fan. if you want to turn it in to a convection style oven it would work . but straight blow it is not needed. The force of the air will get it moving in the box.
