Default gloss killer not so killer?

I mixed an entire 8oz can with 2 lbs of powder... and didnt notice one bit of gloss killing action going on.

Was there some step I missed?

This is the recommended amount for a matte finish.

I use satin clear and it kills the gloss to a nice matte finish.

If I have to, I will. Thanks for the hint.

But, I am just very disappointed in the gloss killer so far.

I just wanted to know what the story was. Anyone else have this problem?

I am still very unhappy with the gloss killer. I used it to its max and still it has turned out semi gloss.

Sorry to hear that. It's manufactured by a very reputable company and has been in commercial use for over 10 years. If you can give us some more details about your use of this product, I will ask our rep.

You can read the TDS here: http://www.tiger-coatings.com/filead...ler)%20USA.pdf

Any other word on the gloss killer? I need to order some but I'd like to hear if others have used it with success.

Has anyone else used satin clear to get a matte finish?

jtagger19, what is the ratio you use?

Thanks in advance

if you are talking about the satin clear
you don't mix it with color
it a satin clear
you just apply it as a normal coat after the color

I just wanted to add... I dd end up using it for the final product. It worked nice, but I had to use 1.5 to 2 times what it said to get a truely matte finish.

I got about a semi gloss with what it recommended on the container. I didnt want to go anymore than I did, because I was afraid of 'sde effects'.

But, all in all... good product. I would like to try a matte gloss. But, I sure like the one coat process much more.

Thanks for the input...
I really don't want to second coat either, never had any luck doing two coats hot or cold. I need to keep a nice flat surface without much build-up..
