I have use gold powder but not caswells

I'll have to try caswells for my next project.

What are you talking about here? Powder coating or gold plating?

I wasnt real impressed with the gold powder over chrome, seemed to me to look alot more like Brass than gold..

I don't understand why you would want to powdercoat over a chromed surface, when it would be just as easy to gold plate it. or am I missing something here?

I did a translucent gold... never again...3 coats, = too much time spent on it.

well it depends on the situation
if you have a part in bare metal and you want to chrome and then gold powder it , it's expecive an stupid you are better off buying a gold plating set up.
but if you have a part already chrome or polished is a lot easier and cheaper just to powder it than to buy a whole gold plating set up.

gold works and looks great over chrome or polished , over chrome powder it's another story. my $0.02

I agree with jtagger... i did the gold over powder chrome and it was a pain!.. i just did a chromed valve cover just for kicks to see how it turned out... it came out nice... one coat....
