best tyoe of powder ??

i'm starting another project. it's a 1950 triumph thunderbird hardtial bobber. i'm going do kind of a reverse in chrome scheeme. for instance i'm going to polish the cases and pc the case covers ect. i've yet to decide on what color but what type of powder is best suited for toughness and will resist oil's and gas ect.? i read somewhere here about different powders and can't find where. thanks
