There are times when I get a part that has been previously powder coated and blasting or using stripper is a major pain.

If there a way to get an acid dip going for a home operation?

I bought a 5 gal can of paint gun cleaner. It has a basket in it. Cost me about $80. It worked pretty good. I used it to take baked on powder paint off of leadhead fishing lures that were rejects.
It has a really strong smell. I used a paint mask for paint fumes and used chemical gloves. I still had to wash in water with a plasic brush after removing from the paint gun cleaner.

How long will it last?

Did that stip it right down to bare metal nicely?

I have had it a year and still works. I have used the basket full of jigs a dozen times or so. Not much waste and when you pull the basket out, most of the paint is still on the part or in the basket.
The paint is swelled or off of the fishing lure but still the same shape. They look kind of like little balloons around the lures. I then wash them in water to help seperate the pieces of paint from the lures. A pressure washer would probably work the best, or after washing in water (this is important), an air hose would work. You just have all of these little pieces of rubbery paint chips. The only place that the paint is hard for me to remove ( requires the plastic brush ) is around the eyelet of the hook. The rest, just falls off clean.

Isn't it carbon-tet with a top-coat to prevent it from evaporating so fast?
