Coating pot metal?
I just received some pot metal emblems from his ford truck that he wanted coated and I have to strip all of the chrome off. I am getting a blast cabinet on Friday and was wondering if its OK to blast pot metal? Plus coating it with chrome powder and transparent red for a top coat....would OGF chrome powder be better because I heard pot metal out gases alot? Thanks...

I powder coated pot metal emblems like your talking about and it worked out fine. I pre heated it @ 400 for 15 min and used super chrome on it then went with the transparent gold oever it.

Which chrome is better to use as a base? I have the x-treme chrome...seems like I have alot of faraday even when I shoot the part at around 200*. I adjust my KV's and mess with my ground but it never helps.
