Default More Ceramic Coating ?'s

I was wondering since ceramic coating cures at 500* for one hour, since my oven goes to 485*, is it just like powder and maybe add say 20 minutes or more cook time and it will fully cure? One other thing...say I ceramic coated an intake manifold, then afterwards I powder coated it. Will the powder adhere to it or separate?

Yes if you drop the temp you need to cure it longer.
Yes you could powder coat it also. but why would you want to?

I was thinking like if a guy bought a regular aluminum intake or if their valve pans were crappy looking then I could ceramic coat them then use a candy powder over that rather than using the crappy chrome powder. Plus it would cut down on under hood temps a little more.

It would be easier to use the chrome base powders. You really need a nice snooth surface for the ceramic/candy to look good.

If you plan to polish the intakes 1st Id say go for it. because you still have to polish the ceramic to a shine 1st befor you use a candy powder.

Yeh I would definately be polishing the ceramic. The more shine the better the candies and transparents will look. I just have a really hard time shooting the transparents over the chrome powder...don't know why but I just cannot time it right or adjust the kv's to compensate for buildup in different areas.

you won't get a nice consistant base for candies using ceramic
unless it's a smooth out surface and polish by tumbler
you are way better off ussing powder
what problems do you have with powder chrome base ,best one that works for me is super chrome
I have use it from 20kv to 100kv and haven't had any buildup problems

Kind of a waste to ceramic coat intakes, they don't get hot enough to warrant the extra cost. I just powder, you can do alot more with it.

If you were to ceramic coat a pair of headers could you then powder over them with any color and not have it burn off?
