Default Tip sizes

My powder coating system (Caswell) came with three different sized tips but the instructions don't mention anything about them.
Under what circumstances would I want to use a larger / smaller tip?
Thanks.

Yeah! I'd like to know too. Of course i could always try them out, but it doesnt hurt to know what they'll do previous to using them.

You might find the best results without any tip. Works for me

I second that. Only time I use a tip is for large areas, like plate steel. just be careful not to get too much powder in one spot. I turn my air pressure down a bit.

When I get a little time, I am planning on modifying 1 of the extra tips and the barrel to make a fan shape spray.
I am thinking a fan shaped spray, like that of a paint spray gun, may work a bit better than just a plain ole fog!

I modified one of my tips.. i drilled 4- 3/16" holes in it.. flows powder pretty well.. i might open it up a bit more... with the holes it seems to flow more like no tip at all with out having to lower pressure...

I have a specially designed hopper coming and I hope it helps a bunch in fluidizing the powder so it somes out of the gun better. Tip mods are working ok so far though.
