Any one ever PC motorcycle master cylinders? If so what do you do about the sight glasses? Will they stand the heat? Can they be removed without dammage?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I begun doing work for a large local cycle shop and the are wanting a set of master cylinders PC'ed the volume of work from them is really begining to pick up and I dont want to screw any parts up. How is the glass mounted into the master cylinder? I don't know because i don't get to play with motorcycles, but i'd have to guess that there's some form of rubber seal. If it does, then NO, it will not like being baked. But as just about everything goes, if it got assembled, it can be disassembled. Just matters how much work you want to put into something

So is there a rubber seal? If there isn't, I'd try contacting the company who manufactured the master cylinder and ask if the glass will withstand the temps/time of outgassing&curing. I would imagine it would, and makesure you allow it to cool slowly so the glass does not break. Perhaps turn off the oven and let it sit in there for an hour after curing.
If you want to try to get it out, perhaps you can rig it up to use air pressure to blow the glass out. Mount the cylinder in a vise with the glass pointing down and have a towel under it (to softly catch the glass). Then use your regulator to gradually increase the pressure until the glass comes out. Perhaps baking the cylinder first will allow the metal to retract a little away from the glass??

Wouldn't that be under pressure when in use? Or is that just for the resorvoir? If so, I don't know that I'd want to break the factory seal for fear of brake failure. Don't need no steenking lawsuits!
