Default Brake Component coatings,?silicone?etc.

Well, I have always wondered what the best coating for brake components are,
especially the rotors. some peaple coat them with brke caliper paint, but that makes 'em not cool as fast, I know that tech line carries some good products but are a "shop only" supply. What should I use?
I also was wondering if a good quality silicon spray was aplied on fresh rotors, if that would help w/ rust and such??
Kind of like spraying tech lines satin blk, coating after it cures, to keep it from discoloring/staining so much.
Just some thoughts, hope someond can feed me some in sight I am still a nubie!!
Thanks Jesse-

I am trying to figure out what you want here.

First of all, you wouldn't want to put anything on the rotor itself as it would interfere with the pad-rotor reaction. It should never really have time to rust because as soon as it is used, the pads would remove any rust. If you wanted to keep the rotors on your show bike from rusting, a good polishing on a buffing wheel and then a light coat of oil would work best.
As for calipers, we are getting ready to perform an experiment on drums and calipers. We have several pieces off of our own vehicles (trucks and bikes) that we are going to do in a couple of different whites to see what discolors and what works the best with the heat. I am told by several pro PC companies that epoxy works real well.....we'll soon see.

Sorry I ment the section of rotor that the pads dont contact(I thought that that was a general known rule) anyway sorry for the confusion.
For calipers I have seen some powders hold up ok. A few paints too.
But the rotors get so hot most coatings i have seen fail after a while.

With the Tech Line caotings I am not sure and have not used yet, and wanted to see if any one who had used their specific products. worked well
Especially those products that are not retail available aka: TLHB, TLTD, TLML

And on top of it all, I was just thinking about the silicon spray as an idea.
wondered if anyone had tryed any thing similer.
Thanks again
Let me know how those parts turn out Johnny
Good luck,
(and remember dont coat the pad contact section) (or if you do re-machine it)
