Default Let's talk about Lab Metal

I need to hear from those of you that have used Lab Metal.
What did you use, hi temp or the other?
How bad is it to work with?
Was sanding it that bad?
Did it take pc well or...?
I have a couple projects that would look a lot better if some of the deficiencies were filled in! It would really make a big difference in the overall look, but I haven't heaqrd anything good about the product other than it's a real bear to sand!

I ahvn't used Lab yet, but I have some Devcon 2 part epoxy putty here I have used. It accepts heat well, good to 750F and takes the PC good too. Pretty hard to sand. Harder than Fiberglass. But it flows pretty smooth in it's cure process, which takes overnight at room temp, but faster in the oven. Can also Machine/mill/tap the stuff. I have used it for repairing stripped/broken boltholes

I have used the high temp stuff. Real easy to use. Just be sure to mix it real well before you try to use it.

Sands easy... couldnt tell it was on there at all.

I would like to know how well it takes to powder too? I'm finnally getting near the point that I'm gonna be doing my first part.I have some parts that are pitted from rust, & was wondering wether Lab metal or JB Weld would be better to use.

I used JB Weld on a gas tank and it was really easy to work with when applying and sanding. It seemed to take the powder well too.
