Make sure your spray area is clean. No dust or lint floating around. Lint/dust really show up in the E chrome. When I did my intake manifold, it was ok, manifold havd some texture. But doing something smooth like valve covers, the lint will show up eailly.

Okay....so been a while...but here are a few pic's of the results from the first few tester parts using e/chrome.

Pre-heated to about 430f then let cool to about 250f then coated then gradually took back up to 392 for 30 mins...

this is just e/chrome with no clear as of yet....

Do they look about right...?

Having some trouble with orange peel and what looks like misting (bit like a white layer underneath....)

Also is it a good idea to use another powder underneath to give the e/chrome depth?....Say black or a dark colour?

Extreme Chrome needs a clear coat to protect it from UV's. In doing that you will loose some of the chrome look as in kind of smoky. I have used it quite a few times and there is a trick to it. Look at the top of this forum for the thread on extreme chrome and follow it to the letter. It will amaze you how it comes out. It requires a little more work, but turns out nice. Also you might want to consider a single stage chrome. There are several around. But none of them will ever replace the real thing. It's just cheaper and looks pretty good.
