Default Differential Cover

I am going to be coating a differential cover soon. Should I mask off the front or coat the whole thing?

I would mask off at least the mating surface. Even if you get some powder on the inside of the cover, it won't damage the gears or bearings in the event that it comes off during use.

+1

More of a PITA to clean the mating surface of cured powder versus applying tape
