Default Removing tape residue

Hello All! Can anyone tell me how to remove the tape residue from a part. I coated a yamaha side cover over the weekend with the yamaha logo stamped in the cover. Coated it with black chrome then the logo in red. Had to tape around the logo and then covered the rest with aluminum foil. Put it in the oven till it started to flow (the red) then removed the tape & foil. I saw the residue on the part and could not remove it. When I cleared the part (that was a mistake) bad clear I guess you could see everywhere I taped. Stripped the part 3 times & recoated before I gave up. Any tips out there!

Thanks Dee

The first thing I would say is let the lettering cure before removing the tape. If you remove the tape when the part is cool you can remove the residue using a fresh piece of tape to dab the leftover glue, and it should come off with no problem. That's the way I do it and haven't had a problem yet. I also let the part completely cool before I clear it...That way I can clean it if necessary.

If the tape gets too hot it can leave behind residue that is a pain to get off. Just rub and rub some more.
