Been powder coating fishing lures for several years but I decided to try the powder gun so I can do more volume than with a fluid bed.
I'm getting ready to build a spray booth and would love to see how you guys built yours to save me any headache's Thanks I'll post mine when I'm finished |

Here's mine, same width as my oven, 5' but only 5' deep, whearas the oven's 7. Behind the blue filter media is a 18" 1/4HP fan. I have the fan on a speed control. Usually have it on low, but it's nice when cleaning up, to crank up the speed and air out the shop. Works great to evac the PC fumes too

Hey Bandit,
Nice lookin Booth! Is that Melamine board or is that wall board for bathrooms etc?Has a nice shine to it. Also are you using a regular box fan? I was to worried that if powder went through the filter it could cause a fire hazard etc? How easy is your cleanup? Sorry so many ?"S just want to save as much time and $ if ya know what I mean. Thanks Bill |

That's MDF Medium density Fiber board. Or some call it Ranger board. I used it for my bench and shelves. The booth is painted drywall. The fan is just a motor and a fanblade built into a wooden box. No worry about explosion when sucking the little powder. wouldn't be in high enough concentration. But I do have a paper filter frame built up. I'll try to get pics of the fan and my real filter media soon. ATM, I am just stopping for brunch, almost have the oven all sided
Cleanup's easy because I put Lino on the floor. I just blow out the mass amounts of powder with the fan on high, then wash the walls and floor, spotless

Hey Bandit,
Just putting the finishing touch's on my booth.Smaller scale than yours . But wondering about a filter on the floor of the booth? Just a thought being the powder is gravity bound? Thank You for your help! A friend of mine sent me pic's of his and between you two you've given me idea's to make it flow better. I'll post pics when I'm finished.Still thinking of about doing the bottom feed. Thanks Again Bill |

I stand on the floor, so having a filter there wouldn't work. I use the booth for airbrushing and stuff as well.

Understandable there. I wish I had the room but with the space I have and the small detail work with the lures I think this one will work OK.I'll get pic's up in a few
Thanks for all the help! Bill |
