Default Kabooom

I just got a powder coating system and hooked it up. But I forgot one small detail turning the compressor down. I'm not sure what went first the moisture canister or the power can but they both went in different directions. It's difficult to discribe the cloud but it was intence! After it settled and I cleaned up the mess (no small task) I tried again. I cleaned the metal practice piece by sanding it, alcohol, then thinner, but the power doesn't stick everywhere real well. I've got it on a metal rark with brass pins. (yes I connected the clip and stepped on the pedal. What you think I don't read directions?

Problem 2 when I tilt the barrel down the powder seems to dump out like it's accumulating in the barrel and I'm not tilting it up at anytime.

Hope ya got a good chuckle at my expence>

Well I don't know about anyone else but I got a laugh out of that. The mental image will be with me all day.

As far as the powder build up is concerned you might want to go over your settings and make sure you have the powder flow adjusted correctly.

Sorry I don't know what you mean about adjusting the powder. All I see on the gun is a air control valve, is that what you mean more or less pressure? I would like a response to the powder not sticking if possible. Thanks

Hexhead don't feel bad .I have a painting company and I went to spray trim and doors with my air sprayer and as I began shooting the spray gun blew apart throwing paint everywhere .All over the freshly painted walls ,windows ,ceilings etc .what made it worse is that the spray pump was 100 ft away out side and
trying to hold on to the remaining parts of the gun and getting outside to shut off the machine that is pushing paint out at 3200 psi. Well lets just say 5 gals went quickly.I feel the pain !

don't feel bad !
it has or willl happend to all of us
I had a similar situation with a gallon of chromex
I bought this mixer machine and acidentally left the gallon partially open
and when I turn the machine on a wave of almost 5 feet of chromex cover me from head to feet
funny for every one but me ,I lost about $300 on that gallon
anyway
your input should be around 20 PSI
you should have about 1 to 1-1/2 inch of powder in the cup
and play around with the bottom screw(under the barrel) till you get the right setting.
hope that helps.
