Default cast aluminum prep.

I just got my pressure sand blaster with 70 grit aluminum oxide and started to stripe the primary chain cover to powder coat I would like to get it smooth so it can have a smooth look insed of rough, I was able to stripe the paint with the blaster ( having a little trouble getting the sand out just right ) but I didn't notice the aluminum any smoother. any help / advice?
Thanks

I normally don't have a problem getting a smooth finish after coating unless I coat over a rough casting similar to the excessivly "bumpy" surface of a manifold. I'm not sure what the surface of the part you are working on is, but most parts on a motorcycle (I assume it a motorcycle part) are typically pretty smooth and coat nice. Powder has a way of flowing and smoothing to a degree on its own. If it has a "manifold" texture to it I have used an angle grinder with a scotchbrite disc to smooth it up a little before coating, kinda like you would in prep to polish it.

The surface is somewhat rough simalar to manifolds I didn't know if this is something I can smooth out with blasting or if I need to grind which would suck due to hard to reach areas. I will be working on it today so I will post picure of it if I can figure out how.

ok I tryed sand blasting on the primary and I'm not sure if it me or the sand blaster not working right, but I used the airplane paint remover and then I angle grinded and sanded the part that I want to look smooth and shine..
I am having a hard time uploading the picture. the pic is to big in size and I don't know how to change it.
