Hi guys, I have been reading this thread and had an idea. How about finding some blank dog tags on Ebay. They are mostly flat, have a small edge for contour and a hole already pre-drilled in them. I looked and found 200 for sale for $46 w/ shipping. I like Bandits idea of putting them on a chain or bead type chain so the customer can see them and feel them. Just an idea.

I just went down to the local metal shop and have them to cut me off some chips from their scraps for a small price and PC them myself.

I dont think its the substrate thats the concern here. Its the variance in colors and their combinations that causes these problems.

I think most people will just have to settle for the "standard colors" and if they need samples for the top coats, candies etc they will have to made individually.

ok i give up!!! i see that a moderator on here thinks that we are wanting to reinvent the wheel by coming up with something some of us can benefit from. lets see every year auto manufacturers re-design there line of cars. must be wasting there time cause they already have one that works huh. to those of you that dont want to think outside the box continue doing things as you are, im sure you will get along fine, but for those of us that want to go the extra mile and find a solution to satisfy our customers every need and want to find ways to help promote our business please keep the negativity to yourself. i had the impression that the moderators are a represenative of caswell. if so i would think that you would help us and support us in growing with our business. i started this thread with the hopes that those of us that need these color samples could throw all our ideas together and come up with a sollution to the problem and possibly sell these through caswell. heck for a brief moment caswell posted that he would be interested in talking with me about making color samples. then he went to saying that he doesnt want to get involved with it in another post. from that i am going to assume that he sees a need for this as well. but the big problem is how to go about doing it. i dont see that tiger which caswell stated he only gets half his powders from will supply me with 4 sets of color samples like i need, as well as those things are way to big for the companys that i supply coating services to, to be lugging around on there sales calls. oh well im sure your all tired of my rambling here. to those that might be interested i can supply you with cold rolled sheet metal pieces 2"x2" or close to that with a hole in one corner for hanging or running a chain through for 5pcs for $1.00. now i will get off my soap box. good day to all and good luck to those of us that need these things.
