Hi there . I am new to this and was wanting to know if I can powder coat over a existing primered surface ? I am currently doing a restoration project on a automobile and I have disasembled alot of it and media blasted the parts and primed them with a rust preventive rust oleum red oxide primer so the would not rust from being on the shelf for a while until it is ready to reassemble later. I am interested in buying a powder coating system to use in my home shop for this project and others in the future but I realy hate to have to go back and reblast or use a paint stripper on the parts just to remove the primer. Will the powders adhere to them with the primer on them ? Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
