Default Why re-invent the Wheel.

Ok Watching the thread about Color Chips, why are you folks redoing something that is already done and will cost you NOTHING. These are all colors caswell's sells or close to it. Call Tiger and tell them you are a customer of Caswell's and guess what they will send you what ever color chip('s) you want. This sample is just a small sample of teh chips they have sent me. The size is great Look to the bottom Right that is my checkbook for size. Called for these all at once and you know what? THey where more then happy to send them to me free of charge. So lets stop re-inventing the wheel or in this case the Color Chip...
Ok I'm off my Soap Box now sorry...

Well, lets see. Im new here and by the posts of everyone else it seemed like there wasen't such thing out there, either that or it was hard to find. So I proposed a solution. Its nice knowing that this is out there though and we dont have to take on this task ourselves, Thanks.

This was said by the Caswell President-

"Good point. The color panels we have received from our suppliers in the past can differ dramtically from the actual colors when shot over differing metals or bases.

These color chips that everyone wants can be very misleading...which is yet another reason that we don't want to get into selling them."

Well with that said, What I shoot and how you shoot we will get 2 different colors as well. So I guess it would be the same thing. Only way you get the same thing over and over again is to shoot a Factory line where everything is 100% the same. Heck color batches change from 1 to the other so no nothing is 100% the same but these are at least a Base to start with..
But hey what do I know I've only been doing this for years. Well you folks do as you like, guess I'm out of here.
Happy Powdering...

Jim S...

I have all the Tiger color samples...They make for a good starting point but as Jim said the color varies from batch to batch. Storage can also have an effect on the final product. Material type, shape, coating thickness, type of gun, cure time and temp, will all have an effect on what you ultimately end up with. I would suggest that you call tiger and have them send you the complete color charts. If I need a panel I call them and ask for one...And they send it.
