ever try to build a refrigerated dryer

has anyone ever tried to build a refrigerated dryer ?
i have a small ice maker that dosent make ice but do's freeze
i was thinking a 50 ft coil of copper tubing coming in the top side coil inside and exiting bottom side then a water trap conecting back to the air line.
what do you think ?

If you could keep the condensed water from freezing in the line it would probably work pretty well. I have a refridgerated dryer in my shop and it works great. In my case it would cost more in rework and lost time than it did to buy and maintain the dryer.

Too much work to get something like that too work, YOu would completlly Have to re-wire it where it will not Go through the Harvest Cycle, (when the Ice drops) NOT counting on trying too get the copper right, Going too have too make sure the freon is correct, Or it will not work correctlly, and end up blowing up the ice machine compressor ,, My Opion is not worth it Try too find a good used one somewhere,
Might try too find one on ebay, or local auctions Where they are auction off pneumatic tools
