Default Stripping clear from a polished aluminum part

I got a polished aluminum intake that needed to be clear coated. The fellow that dropped it off said he used glass bead prior to polishing it...Knowing that, I boiled it in water using my crab cooker and then pre-baked it at 375 for a half hour or so, let it cool and then cleaned it before fogging on the clear. When I pulled the part from the oven, I could see all the glass particles in the clear, making it look like sand paper...Now I have to strip it and recoat, but I don't want to damage the polish. What should I use to strip it with that won't damage the polished finish? I thought about lighting it on fire since the coating is fresh, but then I'd have to polish it for him and I'm not set up for that. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Don

There is a solvent, that painters use, called Gun Wash. It takes Lolly red of real well. I just used it to strip a few items that I had runs in. should work for clear. I get Gun wash at the local auto parts/paint supply store.

hi , i strip powder off polished aluminium parts all the time ,most paint strippers i have used will not harm the polishing , if you use a gel type stripper , i use tallstrip and i can leave it on for couple of hours without any damage.just brush it on with a soft brush wait till the paint lifts off the part and then rinse with water . be carefull for your skin and eyes with the striper.stay away from any material containing caustic or lye , they will damage the finish .
