i have been doing a lot of mc parts fork tubs side covers thanks like that some parts come out smooth some have powder fish eye not fish eye from oil or something on the part. do you know what i mean can i bake the part at like 200 for say 30 min to let powder flow better or is their something i am missing ? i wet sand the fish eye out and buff it would be nice not too have to.

Try cleaning, de-gassing and check for any contaminants coming out of the material. I de-gas 25 to 50 degrees above cure temp for about 1/2 hour. Longer if I see oils coming out of the part. Let cool, re-clean and de-gas again.

What you are calling fish eye is orange peel. Fish eye is caused by contamination and orange peel is the coating not flowing out. The way I deal with it is to dwell the temp that the powder starts to melt and flow for a short period of time. At times you may need to increase the coating thickness.

You might try holding at 300* to 325* and going with a thicker coat.

Well for what it's worth I'll tell you how I do it. Bead blast outside to remove clear coat. Spray inside real good with choke cleaner wipe down with acetone rinse with HOT water I got the water so hot by the time I take them over to hang there almost dry. Run them thru a cure cycle without
powder (out gas). Let cool to about 150* (the old 150* rule) start to coat, the powder starts to melt and I keep laying it on until it stops melting. Make sure the whole thing is covered with unmelted powder. Set timmer for 20 minutes after part reaches 385* to 400* and wala smoth as a baby's butt.
