What you are calling fish eye is orange peel. Fish eye is caused by contamination and orange peel is the coating not flowing out. The way I deal with it is to dwell the temp that the powder starts to melt and flow for a short period of time. At times you may need to increase the coating thickness.

Well for what it's worth I'll tell you how I do it. Bead blast outside to remove clear coat. Spray inside real good with choke cleaner wipe down with acetone rinse with HOT water I got the water so hot by the time I take them over to hang there almost dry. Run them thru a cure cycle without
powder (out gas). Let cool to about 150* (the old 150* rule) start to coat, the powder starts to melt and I keep laying it on until it stops melting. Make sure the whole thing is covered with unmelted powder. Set timmer for 20 minutes after part reaches 385* to 400* and wala smoth as a baby's butt. ![]() |
