Default can I make paint out of the powder?

Hi everyone, Is it possible to make a paint from the powder, such as adding the powder to a clear paint and mixing? Reason I ask I`s I powder coated my rims with a odd color "goldish titanium" and i have to match the center caps now. wondering if thats possible and if anyone has "tried" it.

You can not make paint from your powder. The binders and cross linkers in the powder make it vastly different from paint. Powder requires heat to make it adhere to the surface and to itself.

History lesson: The original powders that were used in the 40's and early 50's were mixed with water and bonding agents in some cases to form a slurry and sprayed on wet then cured after the coating dried. This was the birth of powder coating. The result was a thick but extremely tough coating. Much like mixing cement then spraying onto a wall. Aren't you glad technology took over and brought us to where we are today?

actually ther is something similar
search on goolgle for powdr2o

This technology gives the ability to disperse Powder Coating powders, in water

you mix 50% POWDER TO 50% POWDR2O and spray it with a normal hvlp gun .

but anyway
auto paint supply shops can match you paint to powder
I've done it a lot of times for the exact same reazon plastic center caps.

most automotive paint suppliers have a gun that will shoot your color and it will give them the recipe to match it perfectly with paint
